AITRS participated in the "Knowledge Forum" workshop in Amman on 22 April. The forum aims at reviewing Jordan's most important results in the Global Knowledge Index and discussing the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, as well as highlighting the issue of the challenge of illiteracy in the Arab world, especially in Jordan. The Global Knowledge Index, which measures knowledge worldwide, includes seven key indicators covering pre-university education, technical education and vocational training, higher education, research and development, innovation, economics, information and communication technology, as well as enabling environments for those sectors. The World Knowledge Index was launched at the Knowledge Summit held in Dubai last November; it is the only index that measures knowledge worldwide. The Global Knowledge Index (GKI) is a partnership initiative between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF)
