AITRS administration is consisted of director general, experts, technical and administrative staff required for working to achieve AITRS goals according to the shown administration structure.

The Director General is appointed by the Board of Trustees for a term of four years; the Board is entitled, when necessary, to extend its mandate as it sees fit for a maximum period of two years. The Director General shall work full time as he is the executive supervisor on all scientific, administrative and financial aspects of AITRS work including the following:

  1. Oversee the management of AITRS and approve the spending from its budget after it has been approved by the Board of Trustees.
  2. Management of AITRS programs including training, research, consultative services, scholarships and others.
  3. Work on establishing relationships with Arab and international scientific and statistical institutions and agencies for coordination and cooperation.
  4. Prepare the agenda for the Board of Trustees meeting supported by the necessary clarifications and invitations to the meeting.
  5. Prepare an annual report on AITRS activities for submission to the Board.
  6. Propose the bylaws and their related regulations and amendments that AITRS needs for discussion and adoption by the Board of Trustees.
  7. Appoint and dismiss employees of AITRS and determine their pays and rewards according to its relevant charter.
  8. Be the legal representative and spokesman for AITRS and has the power of delegating lawyers for cases related to AITRS functions within and outside the host country.
